Family Picture

In the picture above, it shows how the family isn't very happy or excited to take the picture. The birthday girl, which is the daughter Alex, looks sullen and depressed instead of being happy, which is usually how a person feels on their birthday. Aunt Cassandra is making a weird symbol with her hand as she loves anything to do with the mythical. The father looks tired and exhausted which is unlike how a father should feel on his daughter's birthday. The brother looks annoyed to be there and looks like he really just wants to go home. Meanwhile, the grandfather is looking very tired.

Character Introduction

1) Who is each person in your group? (What role are they going to play)

Each person in our group is a completely different, unique character. I play the role of the depressed, emo daughter who has a very pessimistic mindset. Riccardo plays the role of the father who has severe problems after his wife passed away when the daughter was 5. He doesn't act like a normal father at all and acts very weird the majority of the time. Sophia plays the role of Aunt Cassandra, who believes in the mythical and auras and often seems very crazy and loopy. Rathin plays the role of the maternal grandfather, who still lives with them years after his daughter's passing. Zaid plays the role of the brother with severe anger issues and often has tendencies to punch something, this means he get angry very easily and releases his anger through violence.

2) What is each character like? (Describe something about their personality or likes and dislikes)

Each character is very distinct and none are similar to each other at all and the characters definitely do not act like a typical family.  The daughter has severe depression problems and dresses and acts like an emo as all her wardrobe consists of is black. She is often quite dramatic and acts like she has the biggest problems in the world which led to her acting like an emo. The father is quite different to his old self and acts very loopy after the death of his wife when his daughter was five, he often stumbles and talks in a riotous state. Next, is Aunt Cassandra, who sees herself as psychic, she deeply believes in the mythical and often tries to do aura readings, who the rest of the family just ignores. She often tries to predict the future and points out things or describes things that don't even exist. Rathin's character is the maternal grandfather and he still lives with the family despite the passing of his daughter more than a decade ago as he has no other place to live. Next, is the brother of the family, played by Zaid, he has severe anger issues and often showcases his anger uses violence which always leads him into trouble, to the point where he needs to be put on medication.

3) Describe the relationships between the characters in your group that came out of doing the still images exercise we did in class.

The relationship between all the characters is quite strained, they're not the typical cliche 'happy family' and often seem like they all hate each other. For example, the daughter finds Aunt Cassandra crazy and out of her mind due to her avid belief in the mythical and prediction of the future and auras. Therefore, they don't get along as she cannot deal with her aunt's weirdness. She often argues with her brother and makes fun of him for his anger issues which leads to him getting very angry, as if the medication wasn't even in use. She often argues with her father as she hates how he always has to make a scene and can't just act like a normal father. The only one she seems to tolerate is her grandfather and even then she complains about the fact that he's still living with them after more than a decade of his daughter's passing.

Drama Reality TV - Debate

1) Do you think reality TV is more 'entertaining' than dramas or documentaries? Why/why not?

I believe that Reality TV is more entertaining than dramas or documentaries as they show how people would act but also it is probably scripted and exaggerated because it is not how normal people would act but it is funny and interesting.

2) What moral or ethical problems might there be with a programme like Big Brother that is filming its contestants 24 hours a day? Explain.

There could be times where people have to pray and they can't go somewhere alone because they are stuck in a house with a lot of people and followed by cameras.

3) What reasons do you think some contestants might have for quitting a reality TV programme?
It could have a negative impact on their social life as there could be some people who hate them and harass them in public or they could just not want to deal with the people in the show anymore.

4) How 'real' is the action or coverage that we see in reality TV programmes? Explain.

I'm pretty certain that reality TV shows aren't completely 100% scripted but the producers try their best to pick interesting people that could have conflict with each other so that it makes the show a bit spicier

Drama Reality TV - Emotional Entrances

Vlad is Shaking hands and Hurting Everyone because he is too strong

 First two contestants meeting

Overly exited contestant tries to Impress audience by seeming nice

1. In this clip, i am trying to show that i am manly and dominant as i shake the hands very strongly, so strong that it hurts. I am also very baffled and impressed as i keep repeating 'wow'. Im very self obsessed and i want to look good so i keep looking in mirrors to make sure i look on point. I also decided to help Evrard so i could have some helpful allies in future rounds.

2. When i saw Mike, i immediately thought that he would be annoying. And i was right. He seemed too obsessed with surfing and wave pools. Although i did help with his request as he was easy to manipulate. I could have an ally that i could manipulate and exploit to win the challenge. I know that might sound mean but, 1,000,000 DHS is 1,000,000 DHS and i will do anything for that kind of money.

3. When i first entered i was completely speechless, i couldn't think of anything to say so all i could think of was 'wow'. I wasn't scared but i wanted to make a good impression to the audience so that i would win. I was too nervous on the way in so i kept looking in mirrors and fixing my shirt.

Drama Reality TV - Map of House

My favorite room in the Little Sister house is obviously the gym, i mean, how do you think i get my body this perfect? I wanted it to be bigger but one of the women said that it needed to be smaller. I only accepted because i am a very nice guy. I would have preferred a bigger bar and gym but, eh, you can't get everything in life.
