Reflection

Today we preformed our stage combat routine and I think we did pretty well. We could have improved because we had our back to the audience at the wrong time and place. I believe we could have improved if we practiced a bit more because we only practiced in break. Overall I am happy with what I accused and I did my best and that Is the mark I deserve.

Person A:                                 Rico Bucconi; is an Italian that moved to Ottawa at birth. He has brown hair and is tall and tan. He is muscular.

Person B:                                 Tim Hortons; A Canadian male, very apologetic. Can dodge very well but gets tired quickly.

Scene Background:                 Rico is at doctor’s appointment and Tim is nurse calling him up for his checkup and Tim pronounces his name wrong so he gets angry and they start fighting.

How do you think it will go?   I think that we will do pretty well but one thing I’m concerned about is the knaps because I don’t know how it will go.

Reflection for Stage Combat

This week we started stage combat and im already in love with it. Stage combat is when you make a realistic looking fight but no contact is used. So far we learned:

  • How to Knap
  • How to slap
  • How to Punch
yesterday, Karim and I made a skit. Where i was an owner of a company degrading Karim and firing him and thenn he gets angry and slaps me. It was very fun to reherse. But we needed to learn about Saftey. Saftey First, Saftey Last, Saftey Always. So we had to be about a meter and a half away from each other. A Knap is when you make the sound with your hands to sound like a slap.
What Went Well:
We made it look realistic and we knew our lines. We also rehersed the slap and we didnt go over the top witht the insults.
Even Better If:
My reaction was a bit over the top and i think that is because im used to Melodrama at this point. Also When Karim was lifting his hand, He moved it down a bit too slow and without tention.

I will keep working on my sstage combat so i can improve.
